The Third Annual Young Generation
Technical and Leadership Conference 2007 in New York City, NY


The annual technical and leadership conference of KSEA/KUSCO, hosted by local students and professionals, is one of the main young generations chapter activities. The first goal of YGTLC is to provide Korean-American undergraduate/graduate students as well as young professionals to have an opportunity to showcase their research. The second goal of YGTLC is to promote careers in science and engineering for Korean-American students and young professionals through technical workshops and CEO/CTO/CIO dinner. The third goal of YGTLC is to sustain the nation-wide YG movement by providing leadership training and networking opportunities for leaders at the KSEA student chapters and young professionals across America.

The YGTLC New York Chapter committee is currently calling for all technical papers by graduate students and young professionals. Up to sixty students and young professionals are expected to participate at the YGTLC as presenters of the papers and/or leaders of the KSEA YG student chapters. Airfare (approximately up to $350 from West Coast, and $250 from East Coast), lodging, and meals for the three-day conference in New York will be provided for all active participants. All accepted papers will be published in the YGTLC proceedings and the outstanding papers/presentations will be awarded with special distinctions

Eligibility

(1) 1.5th and 2nd Generation Korean-Americans majoring in Science and Engineering

(2) Graduate students (including doctorate and post-doc”Ēs), young professionals and recent graduates, undergraduate juniors and seniors, and leaders in KSEA YG student chapters

(3) Members of KSEA at the time of submission.

(Note: Membership fee is free for undergraduates, $15 for graduates, $35 for professionals and regular members)

o Download the application form and paper or abstract/PPT/summary guidelines.

o Submit a paper (up to 6 pages in length) or abstract/PPT/summary along with the completed application form through the website. (Note: applications without papers/presentations are also considered!)

o KSEA Chapter president or president-elect can submit a recommendation letter from his/her KSEA local chapter president for consideration (paper is not required.)

Submission Deadline:

o Completed application and abstract (or recommendation letter): November 25, 2006

o Paper or PPT/Summary: November 25, 2006
